Laura Canada spread the love on Valentine’s Day with a special raffle for head office employees. For a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Women of Hope Masquerade Gala, members of the Laura Canada team shared photos of themselves with their Valentines. One of the receptionists, Catherine, won and took her husband to the 12th annual gala.
The event took place on February 23 at Le Crystal in Ville St. Laurent to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. Through ticket sales, raffle tickets and a silent auction, Women of Hope raised $40,000. This year the theme for the gala was masquerade. Guests and donors enjoyed a night filled with food, drink and dancing in beautiful Venetian masks.
Women of Hope is a non-profit dedicated to raising money for cancer research. The organization was founded in 2007 by 8 women passionate about finding a cure for cancer. The members organize the fundraising event annually. “Every year there’s a different surprise. This year they had two Brazilian dancers doing a show and invited guests to dance with them!” Catherine said.
Laura Canada bought the tickets in support of Women of Hope and was able to give an employee a memorable night. Catherine danced all night long and hopes to attend the gala again next year.
